1. Introduction

Under our management philosophy of “Creation and Challenge” and “Appreciation and Trust,” the YAMADA HOLDINGS Group pursues its mission of “In Support of ‘Total-Living.’”
We believe our vital mission is to support our customers' lives through our diversified business activities spanning consumer electronics, housing, finance, and the environment, while also contributing to the preservation of the global environment and the sustainability of society. We position sustainability as a key management challenge that enables both the Group's growth and the resolution of social issues, and we will contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.

2. Promotion system and responsibility

2.1. Sustainability promotion system

Under the leadership of top management, we will establish and operate a framework to advance sustainability as a company-wide priority. We will clearly define the promotion departments and committees, and each department will collaborate to execute activities. Furthermore, to ensure the policy permeates the entire organization, we will continuously implement educational and awareness-raising activities.

2.2. Responsibilities and roles

All officers and employees of the Group are expected to recognize sustainability-related issues as their own responsibility and role based on this policy, and practice it daily.

2.3. Risk management and transparent disclosure

We recognize that in advancing sustainability, it is essential to constantly identify risks and rigorously manage them. Furthermore, we disclose identified risks, established targets, and progress toward those targets through our website and integrated reports, deepening dialogue with our stakeholders.

3. Material issues

Based on this policy, we will actively address the following key issues with the aim of enhancing corporate value while ensuring the sustainability of society.

3.1. Environment

3.1.1. Tackling climate change

We will contribute to reducing GHG emissions by proposing energy-saving products to our customers, while also enhancing energy efficiency and the adopting renewable energy within our own operations.

3.1.2. Promotion of sales of eco-friendly products

We will promote the adoption of eco-friendly products and materials across our stores and logistics hubs, while providing eco-friendly goods and services to our customers.

3.1.3. Resource circulation and waste reduction

We will promote initiatives toward a circular economy through the thorough implementation of proper recycling in accordance with the Home Appliance Recycling Act, the expansion of reuse business, and the promotion of small home appliance recycling, thereby achieving resource efficiency and waste reduction.

3.2. Social

3.2.1. Strengthening human resource development

We will cultivate human resources who can contribute to the sustainable development of companies and communities, both as employees of our group and as independent individuals.

3.2.2. Responding to labor shortages, securing human resources, and maintaining customer satisfaction

By continually reviewing and optimizing internal and external systems and operations to maximize their effectiveness, we create a comfortable environment for both customers and employees, thereby maintaining and enhancing customer satisfaction while preventing the loss of talent.

3.2.3. Promotion of DE&I and well-being

We strive to enhance occupational safety and health conditions and employee engagement so that each employee's diverse individuality is respected and they can perform at their full potential while maintaining physical and mental well-being.
